Good news, the glitch with the new card printer is now sorted and so I am now able to continue printing and sending out 2017 membership cards. Many thanks for the patience of those members who have been waiting for their new cards.
A reminder also for those members still to renew, our new season starts on March 18th.
This years British Fly Fair International was, despite snowy conditions on Saturday, probably one of the best shows we’ve attended. Saturday in particular was very busy with many members stopping off at the Ladffa stand to say hello. Several enquiries for membership and a couple of sign ups make the show worth while. The raffle again expertly run by Chris, a Ladffa friend, made sure that the weekend was a good one for all the visitors to the stand. The main prize of a days fishing for two was won by Hywel Hughes who is taking his day in early June, tight lines are hopefully the order of the day.
New this year was Simon Everett who for a fiver made those once discarded fly tying scissors a joy to use after his expertise in sharpening and re alignment was complete. If Any tiers amongst our membership need his skills give him a ring him on 07768 632560 to get a quote.
We now look to the Bakewell show in summer and the October fly fair at the Uttoxeter Race course.
Due to poor river conditions and a forecast of further heavy rain, the Committee have decided to cancel the working party arranged for Lords Bridge on the 4th February. If it is possible a new date will be arranged for the working party.
Just a reminder for those members who haven’t yet renewed their membership, the renewals are due by March 1st 2017
