Return to fishing

Its been a while but we can now confirm that taking advice from the Angling Trust we are glad to announce the reopening of our waters from Wednesday 13th May!

However, we should all note that we continue to be at risk in the wider community and as such we are therefore asking you to follow the advice as laid out by the Angling Trust and the committee as laid out below.

Guest Tickets

Additional to these guidelines the club will not be permitting Guest Ticket purchase and or use until further notice.

Access to beats

Also, we re-request that members abide by our recommendation to visiting our other waters rather than congregating on the more popular stretches which is copied below, abiding by these regulations will keep us safe! Following these recommendations will negate the need for a booking system to be implemented across all our waters. See parking note further on re Dovedale/Milldale

It is requested that in order to prevent undue fishing pressure on our flagship waters. Members are requested that they voluntarily restrict their fishing, to 2 visits, per Beat in any 7 day period. The hope is that this action will not only protect our fishing it will also encourage members to fish our other waters. The plan is to divide the fishing beats available as follows

Beat 1 River Hamps
Beat 2 Dovedale / Milldale
Beat 3 Bentley Brook
Beat 4 Upper Dove Ludlow Farm – Pilsbury Castle
Beat 5 Upper Dove Pilsbury Castle – Crowdecote
Beat 6 Lower Dove & Churnet at Rocester
Beat 7 River Churnet Lords Bridge

By adopting this approach. You will still be able to fish every day if you wish, and in two weeks you will be able to fish all of our waters twice. Be more socially distant and most likely fall in love with another stretch of water.
